The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor to serve as the Bridge Inspection Team Leader and play a key role in ensuring the Commonwealth's roadway projects are built to last throughout District 10. As the Bridge Inspection Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a bridge inspection team and performing a variety of technical duties associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Safety inspections will be conducted on existing bridges, including bridge structural members, foundations, supports, and components. Comprehensive bridge inspection records detailing a wide-range of data, photographs, field sketches, and drawings must be well maintained and accessible. Inspection records must also address critical findings regarding the current condition and deficiencies, and the NBIS required recording elements as mentioned in Pub 238. General supervisory duties will involve planning, assigning, prioritizing, and evaluating the work of subordinates; planning training and development activities; and participating in the hiring process. Within this role, it is essential to consistently adhere to all safety regulations and policies and immediately report any injuries or accidents.
