The Role

 

The AVP, Supply Chain Operations is an executive leader responsible for developing and executing the strategy for supply chain technology, data management, and analytics across the healthcare organization. This role ensures that systems and tools enable operational excellence, cost optimization, and datadriven decisionmaking.

 

The AVP leads teams that manage enterprise supply chain platforms, data governance, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to support clinical and operational outcomes.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to align supply chain technology with patient care priorities.

  • Serve as a key liaison with vendors, consultants, and technology partners.

  • Facilitate cross‑functional alignment and response during disruptions or crisis events.

  • Build strong relationships across the healthcare ecosystem to create a collaborative supply chain network.

  • Maintain and improve supply chain operations.

  • Drive integration of internal and external data streams, ensuring data quality, interoperability, and real‑time availability.

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement the vision and roadmap for supply chain technology, data, and analytics aligned with organizational goals.

  • Partner with executive leadership to integrate supply chain systems into broader digital transformation initiatives.

  • Support key projects across the Supply Chain organization, as needed.

Systems & Technology Management

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of supply chain platforms, including ERP, inventory management, and procurement systems.

  • Ensure system interoperability with clinical and financial systems to support seamless operations.

Data Governance & Analytics

  • Establish data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance.

  • Lead advanced analytics initiatives to drive insights on cost, utilization, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to support strategic sourcing and demand planning.

Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for visibility and accountability.

  • Drive continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis, process refinement, and adoption of best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements related to supply chain transparency and operational readiness.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor high‑performing teams in systems, data, technology, and analytics functions.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.

  • Support key projects across the Supply Chain organization, as needed.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field

  • Master’s Degree in a related discipline (preferred)

Experience

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, healthcare supply chain leadership, or related experience

  • Progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain, technology, and analytics

  • Proven track record implementing enterprise systems and leveraging data for strategic decision‑making

  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments

  • Experience in healthcare provider, distributor, manufacturer, or GPO settings (preferred)

  • Familiarity with AI/ML, digital twins, advanced analytics, or ERP/SCM platforms (preferred)

Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of healthcare supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution

  • Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP) and supply chain technology platforms

  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data governance, and system integration with clinical and financial systems

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, cybersecurity, and compliance in healthcare

The full pay range is listed in accordance with applicable law. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, organizational compensation alignment, and the approved hiring department budget for the position. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits.

 

At Providence we believe in the importance of human connection and the impact of in-person collaboration towards team cohesion and caregiver engagement. Further, we want our leaders to live in or near the communities we serve.  Therefore, leaders applying for this role will be required to work a hybrid schedule, which consists of three days onsite, two days remote and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the ministry or service area they support and lead.
