Job Summary: 

The primary function of this position is to lead warehouse activities and represented work force to accomplish cost, schedule, and quality objectives for the warehousing area. Assure the timeliness, accuracy and quality of materials handled in fulfilling customer orders and in storage. Assure employees and leadership comply with defined core process and defined processes that are program specific. The function requires coordination and cooperation with the Order Management, Corporate Sourcing and Inventory Planning, Project/Program/Account Management and Transportation Departments to ensure that work meet customers’ needs and are delivered on time.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and manage inventory
  • Tracking accuracy, creating reports, resolving discrepancies, communicating status to warehouse, operations, and project management
  • Examine material delivered to verify conformance to specifications
  • Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials
  • Move or transports materials from one department to another
  • Monitors and controls movement of material and parts
  • Identifies and implements changes to improve quality, schedule and cost
  • Maintain good document of time and production records
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
  • Provide training on required skills to warehouse team members
  • Provides a safe work environment and takes timely corrective action to correct unsafe conditions
  • Reinforces a culture that values and embraces teamwork and diversity
  • Assist supervisor in keeping training records
  • Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables
  • Lead and schedule resources to meet department productivity and quality goals
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager for appropriate staffing levels, and scheduling to include: work assignments, employee vacations, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees
  • Addresses all quality finding and takes timely corrective action to correct the findings and prevent any recurrence
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Provides a safe work environment and takes timely corrective action to correct unsafe conditions
  • Reinforces a culture that values and embraces teamwork and diversity

Physical Demands
  • Frequently lift, carry, and move materials or products.

  • Prolonged standing (often 8–12 hours per shift).

  • Frequent walking throughout the warehouse, including climbing stairs or ladders.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Move carts, pallet jacks, or materials requiring push/pull strength.

Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for tasks like:

  • Scanning, labeling, packing, or assembling.
  • Operating warehouse equipment as required.

     

Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Must have a strong knowledge of standard Warehouse procedures/inventory control systems

  • Intermediate to strong level of computer skills including working knowledge of MS Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word. Use of computer in data retrieval and entry

  • Ability to enter keyboard data at least 30 words per minute

  • Able to use various types of computer peripheral equipment, such as bar code scanner, printer and label printer

  • Work experience in ISO/TL 9000 certified operations

  • Ability to work independently; demonstrates leadership capabilities

  • Good organizational, communication and people skills

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and layout

  • The employee must be capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and count in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Education and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED, or five or more years of experience in a warehouse inventory control capacity

  • Current Fork lift Certification

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Trained in safety of lifting, handling, and transporting of materials with various shape, size and weight
