Reports to: Director of Procurement
Works closely with: All members of Procurement, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, Pre-Construction Teams and vendors
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and manage orders for materials, equipment, tools and consumables against Project Schedules
- Verify Lead Times and ensure timely delivery to job sites
- Manage Document Storage Platform
- Assist Buyers with issuing RFQ’s, Receipt of Bids, Review Bids
- Assist Buyers with Analyzing and qualifying proposals from suppliers
- Assist Buyers with maintaining various Project Trackers
- Attend Project Meetings to provide input on order status
- Assure contracts include all Project related documentation
Other Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate alignment with our unique corporate culture, as codified by our Core Principles
- Assist pre-construction team with the identification and evaluation of potential vendors, assuring they meet all owner requirements and expectations
- Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors
- Assist Buyers in Creating change/purchase orders for projects
- Assist Buyers with “hand over” process of all contracts to the projects team
- Travel is required on occasion. (ex: site visits, vendor visits, among other things)
Key Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong writing skills (technical or other writing experience)
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with various members of the organization and supply chain
- Understanding of the construction project management process
- Basic knowledge of contract terminology
- Basic negotiating skills: Ability to influence others
- Problem Solving: Ability to think outside of the box to provide value added solutions. Ability to gather information and make recommendations
- Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Driven, self-motivated and organized.
- Construction scheduling knowledge
- Understanding of contract scopes
- MS Office skills, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
