Position Summary: The Associate Buyer secures raw materials, components, and services at the right cost, quality, and timing to keep Flexfab production running smoothly. The role builds vendor relationships, maintains accurate purchasing data, and lives our HEARTS values every day.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Place & track purchase orders that meet material specifications & required dates 

  • Compare quotes and recommend cost-effective options that meet all standards 

  • Maintain accurate lead times, pricing, and delivery status in the ERP system 

  • Monitor open orders, follow up on late deliveries, and communicate changes to stakeholders 

  • Resolve order discrepancies quickly with Quality, Production, and Accounting  

  • Prepare basic spend-analysis reports showing savings & supplier performance 

  • Support vendor onboarding and performance reviews with timely, accurate data 

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, offering respectful input that drives shared success 

  • Communicate transparently, own mistakes, and seek feedback for continuous learning 

  • Contribute ideas that improve cost, efficiency, or service 

Success Measures 

  • On-time delivery: purchased items arrive when needed, meeting department targets  

  • Cost performance: meets or improves cost-saving and cost-avoidance department goals 

  • Data accuracy: keeps ERP purchasing data within the accuracy threshold  

  • Issue resolution: closes purchasing discrepancies within needed turnaround time  

  • Continuous improvement: regularly contributes verified process improvements and completes the personal development plan 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 

  • Internship or six months to one year in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing support preferred 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel 

  • Basic navigation of ERP or MRP systems 

  • Clear written and verbal communication 

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through 

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions 

  • Office setting within a manufacturing plant 

  • Standard day schedule with flexibility to meet production needs 

  • Limited travel for supplier visits or training may be required
