DescriptionPosition Summary
The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, safety compliance, and timely shipping, receiving, and stocking activities. This role helps maintain operational excellence while meeting productivity and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Monitor inventory levels and support accurate inventory control processes.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
- Assist with scheduling staff and allocating resources to meet operational demands.
- Deliver received shipments to proper departments/locations as needed.
- Support the implementation of process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, customer service, and other departments as needed.
- Generate and maintain warehouse reports, records, and documentation.
- Serve as acting Warehouse Manager in their absence.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities required
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
