ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, RESEARCH SYSTEMS AND DATA OPERATIONS, Research Systems, provides leadership and operational oversight for enterprise-wide electronic research administration systems, data operations, and reporting. The position supports implementation of Oracle Fusion ERP and new eRA tools as part of MIT's multi-year business process modernization initiative, collaborating with stakeholders and the Business and Digital Transformation Office (BDTO) on system integrations and data platform transitions. Will provide leadership for enterprise-wide electronic research administration (eRA) systems including pre-award, post-award, and compliance; lead Oracle Fusion ERP and new eRA tools implementation; manage research administration system upgrades, compliance enhancements, maintenance, and critical issues; collaborate with development teams and IS&T on system design, architecture, and integration; oversee data consistency and flow across systems; manage business analysts and project teams; develop project plans, timelines, and budgets; manage and lead a team of data analysts providing operational, compliance, and critical reporting; establish priorities, standards, and processes for reporting services; oversee Tableau and Cognos reporting ecosystem; ensure accurate, timely data for reporting; maintain and enhance existing reports; establish data validation and reconciliation processes; drive improvements in performance and data quality during transitions; define future-state reporting strategy; and act as Data Custodian for Research Administration and Compliance.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in related field; seven years of relevant technical experience with enterprise or research administration systems; two years of project management and supervisory experience; experience with ERP and Research Administration systems; strong data management and reporting skills; and demonstrated leadership ability. PREFERRED: Oracle and Tableau experience; higher education background; or knowledge of federal sponsor regulations.
This is a three year appointment.
