Qualifications:

Possession of current B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger Endorsement (P).

Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Driver Instructor preferred.

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Job Goal:
Assists the Transportation Supervisor to ensure that the Transportation Office runs smoothly and effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
VEHICLE MAINTENANCE/REPORTING:
-
Oversees the general operation and maintenance of buses/vans

Maintain accurate records on bus mileage, warranties, scheduled maintenance, and state inspections.

Reviews bulk inventories for oil, anti-freeze, windshield washer solution, etc. Order same when needed.

Prepare of the fleet for the beginning/end of the year.

DAY to DAY OPERATIONS:
-
Responsible for scheduling all athletic runs/school field trips/and any special events requiring bus usage.

Confirms all absences of bus drivers and bus monitors and procure substitutes

Assists in driver assignments
-
Emergency driving and on-call for situations as determined by the supervisor

Assists in establishing and defining bus routes

DRIVER/MONITORS:

Assist with the transportation payroll on a bi-weekly basis

Assist with evaluation of drivers/monitors
-
Assist with proposed driver and monitor safety programs
-
Assist in new driver/monitor orientation
-
Assist with driver’s responsibility for licenses, renewals and physical examinations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:?

Assist with preparing any and all state/federal reports.

Conforms to all state laws and regulations regarding school transportation

Assist Transportation Supervisor with all aspects of utilizing transportation software to ensure the efficient/effective running of the department
