Description

To provide leadership and departmental support around system initiatives, strategies, and projects. The role would focus on clinical or non-clinical areas to identify trends, review and create metrics to measure successes, find gaps and trends and implement process corrections. The Ambulatory Operations Coordinator will assist with any patient care needs when appropriate, clinic flow, and other duties that will grow the division. 



Responsibilities

Department Strategic Initiatives and Leadership support-

  • Development trainings and roll out to staff within guidelines of departmental initiatives 

  • Train staff, track and monitor trainings, identify gaps or needs in trainings 

  • Create strategies for departments that support initiatives, goals, budgets, staffing, etc. 

  • Implement strategic plans and carry through to completion  

  • Maintain department goals and tasks to keep them on schedule  

  • Run projects and pull identified resources or work groups when needed for various departmental needs or issues 

  • Support leader in day to day work flows and coverage 

  • Ensure clinical or non clinical needs will be met daily 

  • Adjust staffing or handle staffing at direction of leadership as needed  

  • Delegation of assignments and tasks 

  • Manage day to day sites as needed 

Dept Support and Coordination - 

  • Coordinates the daily activities of the team.  

  • Plans and schedules work assignments when needed  

  • Anticipates and resolves problems  

  • Investigate patient satisfaction discrepancies and makes recommendations to resolve and ensure future discrepancy is not repeated 

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for department within scope of practice 

  • Ensure clinic supplies are order JIT and within budget  

Reports and Metrics-

  • Create and maintain metrics to which teams would be help accountable 

  • Review with leadership and ensure success of team members 

  • Regularly run reports and track trends 

  • Create action plans around negative trends identified and act as SME in areas of concentration  

Standardized Work-

  • Create and ensure standardized work throughout assigned work area 

  • Establish with leadership team best practices and publish 

  • Maintain departmental SOPs, practices, etc.  

Other Duties as Assigned –

While the position will work in a normal office environment, travel to the various hospitals and work locations will be necessary. Work hours will vary from time to time depending upon the needs of the business. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required for this position. 



Qualifications
  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree 
  • Minimum Required: 2+ years experience in healthcare ambulatory setting 
  • Must be capable of dealing efficiently and ethically with all people in the hospital environment and must have demonstrated exceptional ability in all areas.
