ROLE
The Storekeeper/MM Support services all functional areas as required.
Responsible for the effective and efficient receiving, shipping, and
distribution of supplies, and assisting in restocking of Stores shelves.
Processes replenishment orders in consultation with Materials Management staff,
expedites as required and provides support to and communicates with all HPHA
departments, ensuring the right product is in the right place, in the right
quantity, at the right time, for the right department. This role will also
include cycle counting of the store’s carts, monitoring and managing product
shelf life through regular stock rotation and assists and advises Materials
Management staff of recommended changes to cart par levels.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
* Minimum Grade 12 diploma required
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
* Good knowledge of computerized Inventory Control systems and proficiency with
related applications
* Ability to apply inventory management concepts, practices and procedures
* Physically fit for materials handling
* Efficient and accurate keyboarding / data-input abilities into the Meditech
MM module on a frequent basis including but not limited to processing PO
receipts, managing discrepancies, etc.
* Ability to perform all job functions with a high degree of accuracy and
attention to detail
* Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced
environment
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
* Community College diploma in Purchasing or Business Administration preferred
* Certified or enrolled in Canadian Association for Production & Inventory
Control (CAPIC), or Supply Chain Management Association of Canada (formerly
Purchasing Management Association of Canada), Canadian Supply Chain Council
(CSCC) preferred
* Previous experience or post-secondary education in inventory control and
management practices preferred
* Recent direct experience in healthcare within the Stores area (centralized
storeroom) in Materials Management (MM) preferred
